Humane Society to Host Rabies Clinic in Downtown Nashua April 23, 2016
The Humane Society for Greater Nashua (HSFN) is pleased to announce that we are hosting a public rabies clinic for all pet owners in Nashua and surrounding towns. The clinic will be held on Saturday, April 23 from 9am-noon outside in the parking lot behind City Hall located on Elm Street in Nashua. Please make sure that your pet is under your control, and able to handle the outdoor, busy environment before bringing them.
Owners are invited to bring their leashed dogs (no flexi-leads please) and cats in a secure carrier to receive the rabies vaccine for $10 per pet. Vaccines will be given on a first come, first serve basis, and there are no appointments necessary. The Nashua City Clerk will also be onsite to license dogs that live in Nashua for an additional fee. If you have questions about those fees, please call the City Clerk’s office at 589-3010. Again everyone is welcome to attend the rabies clinic, not only Nashua residents.
All rabies vaccine certificates will be written as one year certificates unless the owner presents a signed, current rabies certificate for their pet at the time of the clinic. Rabies tags alone will not be sufficient proof of a rabies vaccine. New certificates for animals with signed, current rabies certificates will be written as three year certificates.
If you are unable to attend this clinic, you can make an appointment at the Humane Society’s weekly vaccine clinic, held on Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm, to get the vaccination. Call 889-2275 x21 to make an appointment.
HSFN cares for many of Southern NH’s homeless and neediest pets, and we are pleased to be able to offer this service to the community. Not only is the rabies vaccine required by law, it is a public safety precaution for people and pets alike. Indoor pets are also required have a rabies vaccine. For any questions about the clinic please contact HSFN at (603) 889-2275 ext. 21.
