Thanks to all who supported our Annual Yard Sale benefit held Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 in Hudson by shopping or bringing donations in advance of the sale. With your help, we raised over $25,000! These funds will help us continue our efforts to provide shelter, food, veterinary care and adoption services to pets in need.
We’re grateful to our host, Chartwell Properties, who donated the warehouse space for our sale. We appreciate their generosity and commitment to help the Humane Society.
Of course our yard sale would not be possible without the support of our amazing volunteers. There were 64 volunteers who helped on donation days and 82 who were there on the weekend to staff the event. Collectively they gave 1,350 hours of service doing everything from sorting, cashiering, and package hold, to security and traffic details. We simply could not have hosted this event without them!
We’re also thankful for the generous businesses, A1 Disposal Services, who donated time and equipment for trash removal, and to Goodwill Industries in Hudson who took the majority of items left from our sale to re-sell or recycle through their store in Hudson, making our clean-up very efficient.
But it really was the support of our volunteers, countless donors, and over 1,500 plus shoppers who truly made our yard sale benefit a success and we’re grateful!
We anticipate our 2017 yard sale again to be the weekend of April 8 and 9, 2017. Just be sure to watch our website, www.hsfn.org, during the winter months for confirmation!
