Guinness World Record Attempt

Join the Humane Society for Greater Nashua in our third and final attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the greatest number of dogs simultaneously having their teeth brushed by their humans.

We need over 300 dogs and their humans to participate in this record breaking attempt.  The current record still stands at 268 dogs.  In 2015 we had 252 dogs participate.  In 2016 we had 264 dogs participate.  We were so close to breaking the record that we are going for it one more time! While advance online registration has closed, you can still register in person at the event.

When?  1:00 PM on Saturday September 30 at our Wags to Whiskers festival.

Where?  Anheuser-Busch, Merrimack NH

How long?  The attempt will start at 1:15 PM and last three and a half minutes.  Participants will need to allow extra time to enter the brushing area and prepare their toothbrush by 1:15 PM.

Home dental care is one of the best ways to help keep your dog’s teeth and gums healthy so join us on September 30 and show off your good brushing habits while being part of a world record!

If you already brush your dog’s teeth on a regular basis, feel free to bring your own pet toothbrush and pet toothpaste.    If this is your first time, not to worry, we will provide you with a cleaning kit and basic brushing instructions.  Please do not bring or use toothpaste made for humans as it is harmful to pets.

How long will this record attempt take?  This record is measured by the number of dogs participating in the three and a half minute attempt.   You do not have to brush your dog’s teeth for the entire three and a half minutes (although their teeth would be very clean after all that brushing) but you and your dog must remain in the designated area during the entire three and half minutes. . . . . .with toothbrush in hand.

Do I have to sign up in advance?    No. You can register to participate at the event.

Is there a fee to participate in the record attempt?   No.  However there is an admission fee to enter the Wags to Whiskers festival at Anheuser-Busch.

How many dogs can I bring?  As many as you want!  We need at least 300 to participate. If you have more than one dog in your family, please plan ahead.   Guinness requires one human per dog participate in the record attempt.

Can kids participate?   We ask that all humans participating in the record attempt are at least 16 years old and those under 18 should have experience brushing their dog’s teeth.

Can puppies participate?  While we advocate for starting teeth brushing while your dog is still young, Guinness requires all dogs participating in the record attempt be over one year of age.
