Annual Have a Heart Campaign,
Buy Yours Today!
Throughout February and March, we hope you’ll participate in our Have a Heart Campaign by buying a paper heart to show your support of our pets. Many local businesses are partnering with us to sell hearts and raise funds for the work we do to help homeless pets.
Each red heart represents someone in our community who has donated $1 towards the Humane Society and the gold hearts represent a $10 donation. Over 70 businesses and storefronts throughout greater Nashua participate in our Have a Heart campaign some really cover their walls with hearts. Each heart proudly displays the name of the donor’s name, the name of their pet, or also may bear the name of a beloved pet that has passed. The proceeds help us provide food, medical care, vaccines and shelter for the pets awaiting adoption. You can buy a heart at the Humane Society anytime we’re open. If your business would like to sell hearts, please email Noelle Schuyler, Assistant Director of Development.
HSFN HERO Program, Thursday March 2,
10-11am at the Humane Society
Join us for a kids program during February vacation week. Geared for ages 5-10, kids will have the chance to read to our cats and small animals, participate in a craft and service project to help our pets, and enjoy a tour of the Humane Society. Kids must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program is limited and you must register in advance by sending an email to our HERO program volunteers.
Reading to Rescues, Sunday March 12,
1-3pm at the Humane Society
Does your child need additional time practicing their reading skills? If you’ve answered yes, then please come be a part of our Reading to Rescues Program.
Reading to Rescues allows school age kids to practice their reading skills by reading to our cats and small animals. It’s held on the second Sunday of every month from 1-3. Kids ages 5 and up are invited to participate and parent(s) must stay to supervise their child. You are welcome to bring your favorite book or read one of ours. Kids will receive a certificate to note their time spent reading. Questions, please send an email.
HSFN Alumni Woof Pack Dog Walks
This is a free meet-up group for owners and their HSFN alumni pups who enjoy taking their dogs out to walk, run and romp at local dog-friendly places. Walking venues will range from easy to strenuous, with dogs either leashed or off-leash pending town leash laws and owner’s control. Detailed descriptions of the meet-ups will be posted so you can be sure the walk is appropriate for you and your dog. Learn more about this group on our meetup.com page. You must sign an online waiver through meetup.com and RSVP for the walk.
