Fairgrounds Elementary School students wanted to help the pets at the Humane Society for
Greater Nashua but they were too young to volunteer at the shelter. They decided instead to
hold a Talent Show to raise funds. If it was successful, two students would be able to throw
pies in the face of a teacher and volunteer. They reached their goal as the Talent Show was
a huge success raising over $650!
From dancing, to singing, to gymnastics the students wowed the crowds at the competitions
held two nights in April. The best of the best then performed for the entire school on the
Friday before spring vacation started. The performances ended with two lucky students
throwing pies in the faces of Bonnie Cormier, president of the school PTO and teacher Mike
